Shafqat Ali Khan is the young singer who now represents Sham Chaurasi gharana, after the death of of father Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, along with elder brother Sharafat Ali Khan.

Shafqat and Sharafat were trained in khayal singing by his famed father, Ustad Salamat Ali Khan. At the age of 7, Shafqat was singing classical music at Punjab Music Festival in 1980. Soon after he was singing on the radio and was recognized as a classical musician. Shafqat and Sharafat started singing with their father in concerts and even in a few albums. Now Shafqat sings solo as well as with his older brother Sharafat Ali Khan.

Even though classical music remains his first duty, Shafqat has tried experimenting with Ghazals and east-west fusion groups and has a few albums in this genre too.
